KRISTEN MASON

 “Where there is no heart, there is no art” - Anna Pavlova.  Kristen is a passionate ballet teacher, with a wealth of experience.  She creates a curiosity-based learning environment that focuses on instilling personal discipline, initiative and joy.  She has a keen eye for detail, which she uses to ensure safe training and artistic excellence.

 

Kristen has taught ballet/pointe/conditioning at Canada’s National Ballet School for 12+ years.  She also leads courses in the Teacher Training Program, inspiring teachers of future generations.  She has extensive experience in preparing choreography, teaching pointe work, and adapting her approach to suit all varieties of ages and ability levels.

 

Kristen is a fully qualified RAD teacher, having achieved up to the Advanced 2 level.  She has successfully entered students into RAD exams of all levels, including overseas.  She spent three years teaching in Scotland, training students for bi-yearly exams and performances.

 

Kristen was a competitive dancer herself, having trained 12+ years in Oshawa, ON in Ballet (RAD & ISTD), Tap and Jazz (ADAPT).  She also enjoys teaching: Character/Folk Dance, Community Dance, and Adult Dance.  She values inclusivity and compassion, and is excited to meet new students and develop new bonds!
