KAYLA JAMES

Kayla was raised in Woodstock, Ontario and studied predominately ballet, specializing in R.A.D. examinations and gymnastics as a child. Kayla fell in love with musical theatre in high school and started studying tap, jazz, hip hop, acro, and dance performance styles in order to further her dance skills. Before graduating high school, Kayla obtained her R.A.D. Intermediate and Grade Eight Exams, R.C.M. Grade Eight Vocal with Honours, and B.A.T.D. Premier Ballet Award. She studied musical theatre at Sheridan College and graduated as their Triple Threat Award Winner in 2008. 

Since graduating from Sheridan, Kayla has been performing professionally across Canada in musicals such as Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, White Christmas, and Anne of Green Gables and spent two seasons at the Stratford Festival doing 42nd Street, Man of La Mancha, and Crazy For You. To make the most out of her cross country travels, Kayla has taught musical theatre and tap workshops all over to everyone from recreational dance students to professional musical theatre performers. Kayla is a passionate and sought after teacher in Ontario and continues to pursue her choreography and performing career Canada wide.
